The finest moghan runner circa 1825 is exceptional and distinct antique Oriental rug is noted for its distinct and alluring style.
Similar to Shasavan rugs, which were also historically woven in the Trans-Caucasian of Northwestern Iran, Moghan rugs and carpets have more in common with Caucasian rugs than they do with Persian rugs. Generally speaking, Finest Moghan Runner Circa 1825 and carpets from the Caucasus are characterized by compositions of geometric figures, arranged in deliberate and precise ways.
For instance, it is not unusual to find a Moghan carpet with complex tribal borders, riddled with geometric detail work, the field of which is crammed with octagonal or hexagonal figures, tessellating together and providing ample space for further geometric detail work. Colors vary greatly, but reds, dark blues and browns are all common in Moghan rugs. Further, it is important to note that Prayer Rugs are a popular format for Moghan weavers; some of the finest examples of the style are small prayer rugs, brimming over with exceptional geometric details.
