Antique Shiraz Rug is a type of Persian rug made in the villages. Around the city of Shiraz, in the Iranian province of Fars. Since the weavers are using fixed looms the rugs tend to be larger.

Some of the finest rugs created are attributed to the Ziegler & Co Oushak. These carpets are silky and luminous, the dyes tend to have rich turmeric hues and follow closely to the natural elements. The late 19thC carpets had techniques that are tribal influenced. The town of Oushak is found by the Gediz river. It is known that Oushak carpets were the first to reach Europe and have since then set an standard for taste and design. For Centuries, these carpets have been featured in commissioned paintings and Sultans, Viziers and Pashas employed weavers to make Oushacks, typically of a grand scale for their homes.
