Some of the finest rugs created are attributed to the Oushak carpets. These carpets are silky and luminous, the dyes tend to have rich turmeric hues and follow closely to the natural elements. The late 19thC carpets had techniques that are tribal influenced. The town of Oushak is found by the Gediz river. Oushak carpets were the first to reach Europe. For Centuries, these carpets have been featured in paintings. Sultans, Viziers and Pashas employed weavers to make Oushacks, typically of a grand scale

This classic Soumak was woven with classical traditional motifs and designs and is beautiful with it’s tribal influence. The amazing art of carpet weaving has been passed down for generations and is very complex. The most familiar weave is from the region of Caucasus, where a tight, flat weave is used; Often bags and blankets were made in this way as well.

This Finest Heriz Rug is named after the largest town in the mountainous area of northwest Persia. It is said that Tabriz merchants who wanted room size carpets for export asked weavers to make rugs modeled after ancient tribal rugs of caucasus mountains The result is a stunning Heriz carpet, which is an hybrid of rustic village weavings along with a rich classical grand Persian court carpet. This particular rug is woven with the same natural dyes and handspan wool as it would have been a couple hundred years ago.

A very rare Antique Serapi dating from the 1870’s. The Heriz influences can be noticed in the tribal motifs in use on both the medallion and the field. The geometric patterns in the inset are fantastically woven, and the use of camelhair provides a wonderfully luxurious air to the rug. These works of art are woven in a distinct style that is found in the Heriz region. The larger scale and spaciously placed designs are what differentiates these carpets from others
