Antique Original Beluch Prayer Rug
This piece of genuine woven carpet art is an Antique Original Beluch Prayer Rug. Beluch rugs can be primarily recognized by their exceptional wool quality and color combination. As well as high quality workmanship. This rug comes from a tribal area in Southern Iran bordering Afghanistan and Pakistan. The Baluch people are mainly Persian speaking tribes that inhabit the Eastern regions of Iran, Southern Pakistan and West Afghanistan. The Afghan Baluch rug production comes from two main areas. Chakhansaur district in South West Afghanistan in the Siestan dessert and Badghis province West and North of Herat. Characteristics of Baluch weaving is fineness of stitch and weave. Colors are Indigo blues and soft reds. The wool is from the Baluchi and Ghilzai sheep that gives the Afghan Baluch its lustrous sheen.
