An Exemplary fine and balanced color palette rug for the City of Kashan in central Persian ( Iran ).

It was woven around 1880 with the softest silk knotted pile on a silk foundation. It was perhaps woven as gift for an important occasion like a wedding or a dignitary’s visit.
