This Silk Tabriz Rug comes from north west of Iran. This is one of the oldest known weaving locations that make a vast sum of diverse carpet types. The Tabriz carpet is known for it’s large range of designs and displays. The art of Tabriz carpets reached their height around the 12^th and 16^th  centuries. The extremely fine knotting of this rug is a vanishing art form and is reserved for kings and rulers. Silk rugs are prized possessions and are passed from one generation to the next.
