They have an incredible collection of antique oriental carpets, including rare pieces. I recently bought a very old, stunningly beautiful 19 foot long runner in awesome condition, and I don't think I have ever purchased an item destined to give me more day-to-day pleasure. I also bought a marvelous antique tree-of-life Mohtasham Kashan, which is now hanging on the wall above the runner. I should also mention that both the owner, Michael Kourosh, and his assistant Sam are incredibly helpful, not to mention knowledgeable.

The name I was given by two Santa Barbara contacts in the design space was that of Michael Kourosh. Michael did not disappoint! He has been steeped in the history, traditions and beauty of these rugs since childhood. He easily and patiently imparts information and details regarding the makers and the craft of these cherished pieces; you develop an even greater appreciation of the discipline and the skill woven into each rug. If you ever watch his television show, “Design Santa Barbara” you will get a glimpse of Michael’s expertise in assessing and evaluating these distinctive textiles – and he is very approachable and helpful in person as the owner of the Santa Barbara Design Center.

Mr. Khourosh is an expert in oriental carpets. He was both fun and serious in his manner. He taught us an immense amount about our carpets. Felt like we were in good hands.

Michael and his team helped us to get our old Persian rugs repaired and cleaned and they did an amazing job. We were planning to replace them and did this instead which saved us lots of money - and we love the rugs. Well done!
