This magnificent Antique Mujur Prayer Rug – 4'2" x 5'10" was woven over 200 years ago by an exceptionally skilled weaver with a masterful sense of color. Every step of its creation—from carding and spinning the wool to dyeing it with natural pigments sourced from her surroundings—was done entirely by hand. Uniquely, the rug was woven upside down, a rare and complex technique reserved for special gifts intended for prayer. This detail not only adds to the technical difficulty but also to its spiritual and artistic significance.

Very few Mujur prayer rugs were created in this manner, and even fewer have survived, as they were regularly used on the floor in personal devotion. This piece stands out as a rare and authentic example of woven art, part of our exclusive Kourosh Collection.
