This Antique Malayer rug was woven in a large village located between the major weaving areas of Hamadan and Sarouk in Northwest Persia. In the 19th and 20th century, the rugs produced here were typically small. One of this caliber was hard to come by. In Mayler oversize antique carpets are seen very rarely and were woven on commission; making this antique an rare treasure indeed.

Antique Navajo Rug with lovely all-natural dyed coloring. Navajo textiles are highly regarded and have been sought after as trade items for over 150 years. Navajo textiles were originally utilitarian blankets for use as cloaks, dresses, saddle blankets, and similar purposes. Hand-spun wool from sheep animals was the main source of yarn for Navajo blankets until the 1860s.

1550 woven silk rare Europe work of art. Brussels tapestry workshops produced tapestry’s from at least the 15th century, but the city’s early production in the Late Gothic International Style was eclipsed by the more prominent tapestry-weaving workshops based in Arras and Tournai.
