The subtle yet substantial genius of this work is found in the skillful use of color, the weaver’s understanding of the ancient tribal composition and their ability to precisely execute detail and secondary elements. The field consists of a panel with an indigo ground. To experience the weaver’s mastery form, visually study the principle motifs in the panel. Each is precisely outlined in different colors. In addition, there is a complex presence of reciprocal or mirror-image spacing among the various design elements.
