Antique Turkish carpets such as this like this Rare Ancient Star Oushak are very different and stand out from other room size rugs in the market today. This Kelim style is rare for a carpet this size and is desirable today as highly decorative. They come in central medallion designs as well as patterns of smaller allover medallions or scattered sprays of vine scroll and palmettes. Usak Oriental Carpets are very important when it comes to the heritage of Turkish inhabitants. Each carpet from this era reflects the values of the time period in which they were woven. The weaving techniques, dyes used, and patterns incorporated all have their own time stamp attributed to them.
