The Vintage Donegal Rug – 8'4" x 9'9" originates from Ireland, with its manufacturing dating back to 1858. These arts and crafts rugs feature traditional designs influenced by neoclassical and art nouveau styles, largely shaped by English textile designer William Morris. Custom colors were often selected by clients, adding a unique personal touch. Key European weaving centers included Spain, England, and France, with production continuing under Alexander Morton & Company in London from 1989. Gustav Stickley, a noted entrepreneur, was a prominent collector of Donegal carpets. This vintage rug embodies a rich heritage, blending craftsmanship with timeless design aesthetics.
